See the best of South Africa by hopping from one glorious villa to another! Whether the trip is for a small family, a group of friends, or an extended family, you can enjoy a villa combination that fits the bill.
Putting together that ultimate South (or even Southern) Africa trip is always about choosing your favourite combination of bush, beach, wine, whales, city, or even having them all. When a villa becomes your ideal accommodation choice then there is no need to go from villa to hotel to lodge when travelling from bush to beach, or anywhere else.
One of the fantastic combinations that we can highly recommend is one that takes you from an incredible safari to the beautiful Mother City and is for a group of up to 10 people. Adults and children alike will have an amazing experience flying from Johannesburg to Tswalu Kalahari and then on to Cape Town.
The trip can be done whichever way round is most suitable and combines a stay at Tarkuni villa on South Africa’s largest private game reserve with a stay at North in Cape Town. If the stay at Tarkuni is at least 4 nights then the flights to and from either Cape Town or Johannesburg are included!
TSWALU KALAHARI: TARKUNI
Experience a safari like no other with exclusivity, privacy and a vast wilderness to explore. Of all the destinations Therese has travelled to, this is the one she declares to be her favourite place in the world. The varied habitats of the Kalahari’s “green” savannah are home to rare and endangered species and every game drive results in new discoveries. Elusive pangolin, endangered Roan and Sable antelope, black maned Kalahari lions, plus meerkat, buffalo, giraffe and many more.
Tswalu’s Junior Ranger programme is designed to cater to a broad age range with a variety of activities. Each child spends time with the Tswalu staff to find out what they would like to do during their stay. Children’s bush walks give these junior rangers a passion for this incredible African environment and educate them on conservation. They can also engage in archery, spoor identification and tracking on foot.
Tarkuni, the magnificent 5 bedroom villa on the Tswalu Kalahari reserve, is an oasis of serenity. Relax at the private pool or while lounging in one of the shady salas, enjoy game viewing at your own pace in your private vehicle, and gather together at the boma for exceptional meals prepared by your private chef. The entire experience is bespoke, personal, and filled with lifelong memories.
CAPE TOWN: NORTH
Arrive in Cape Town and make your way to the steep roads of Green Point that wind up the slopes of Signal Hill. Here you will find your vantage point with expansive elevated views of the city, green belt, and ocean. A striking contrast to the semi-arid grassland of Tswalu.
Activity options are diverse and plentiful during your stay at North. Funky nightclubs, a wide array of restaurants, outdoor gyming at Green Point Urban Park, running on the promenade, shopping at the V&A Waterfront, children’s play areas, hiking and paragliding off Lion’s Head are all within close proximity. Head a little further to find beaches, wine farms, markets and more.
It’s not always necessary to leave a villa like North to stay entertained though. This spacious villa invites you to relax and unwind while soaking in the incredible views. Open-plan living areas lead out to front and rear terraces, both ideal for lounging and socializing or for finding a private nook for quiet reflection. The five en-suite bedrooms are individually furnished and have either ocean or forest views. Luxuriate in the heated spa pool year round and create delicious meals in the sociable kitchen. Or allow True Luxury Villas to arrange a private chef and watch them at work.
While this is a great Summer holiday, Winter stays will be extra special. The nocturnal animals at Tswalu emerge during daylight in winter, allowing guests to experience even more wildlife variety. Fireplaces at both North and Tarkuni create special, cosy winter ambience while chatting over the day’s activities with a glass of red wine or enjoying excellent family meals together.
